Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed Janet Burt as a partner to “grow and enhance” the firm’s restructuring advisory team.

It said the appointment bolsters the existing advisory team who have been actively engaged in a range of high-profile retail restructuring and fintech assignments.

With over 25 years of experience, Burt has a “diverse and international” background and has worked throughout the UK, Europe, Middle East and Australia across a range of sectors including: retail, financial services, hospitality and leisure.

Burt has also worked across boutique, mid-tier and ‘Big Four’ restructuring firms, and completed a secondment with a major clearing bank in London.

RSM said she has “extensive experience” of working alongside corporates and their advisors, lenders and other stakeholders, advising them on stressed and distressed situations. She will be based at RSM’s London Farringdon Street office.

Burt said: “I am thrilled to be joining RSM to help strengthen and build its restructuring team. I’m really looking forward to working with them in this challenging and complex market and helping businesses to find innovative solutions in the current financial climate.”

Damian Webb, head of RSM’s London Restructuring team, added: “Janet’s appointment brings a wealth of additional expertise to support our specialist retail and fintech teams. She has an established network in the restructuring community and is well regarded for her collaborative and commercial approach. We are delighted to be welcoming her to the team.”
