MHA MacIntyre Hudson has announced the promotion of VAT director Sue Rathmell to partner.
Rathmell, who joined MHA in 2017 and heads the indirect tax services team in the Kent region, has more than 25 years’ experience of VAT, excise and customs duties, as well as the Tour Operators’ Margin Scheme (TOMS).
Prior to her role at MHA, Rathmell was Indirect tax manager at Saga and VAT director at Deloitte.
Rathmell said: “It’s very exciting for me to be named as partner and I know I will continue to enjoy being part of the dynamic and proactive team at MHA. Over the last few years, our indirect taxes team has gone from strength to strength and we are now the biggest team of our kind in Kent.
“I look forward to continuing to provide proactive advice on all aspects of VAT to our clients, from land and property transactions to helping them deal with HMRC enquiries, as well as to offer specialist support to our near-100 travel sector clients.”
Duncan Cochrane-Dyet, partner and chief operating officer for Kent, added: “Sue is one of the best in her field and her promotion is well deserved. We believe it’s important to recognise the professionalism and ability of our talented staff and support them in their progression.
“Our expertise and the high quality of the service we provide to our clients are what makes us really stand out as a firm, and Sue has demonstrated these in abundance.”
