Begbies Traynor has announced it is expanding its Milton Keynes operations through a partner promotion and new senior hire.

Partner Marco Piacquadio has been promoted from the role of director to become a partner at the insolvency and restructuring firm, and will be joined by Karyn Pritchard as director.

Prior to her appointment, Pritchard gained “years of experience” through senior accountancy roles. In her new position, she will undertake a combination of advisory work and business development.

The latest additions takes the total Milton Keynes team to four members, as the firm “gears up” to handle an increasing number of enquiries from businesses looking for assistance through the Covid-19 crisis.

Piacquadio said: “These are obviously hugely challenging times for businesses across the region and we have seen a significant increase in queries from firms looking to assess their options in recent weeks.

“The business landscape in and around Milton Keynes right now very much mirrors the national picture, with companies in all sectors experiencing difficulties, but leisure, hospitality and travel businesses particularly bearing the brunt.”

He added: “The coming weeks and months will be business critical for many firms, but whatever their circumstances and challenges it is crucial they seek professional guidance at the earliest opportunity.

“Terminal insolvency is far from an inevitability for companies who find themselves in difficulties and we have a proven track record of working with many ailing firms to help them refocus their operations and safeguard jobs.”
