Business and financial advisor Grant Thornton has announced the appointment of Lee Holloway as partner.

Holloway brings over 20 years of experience with him, and has “significant expertise” in consumer business and tax risk management, and specialises in retail and consumer business.

For almost a decade, Holloway worked in-house leading tax functions at Next and Halfords, as well as working as a tax director at Molson Coors, a US listed brewer.

He was also named ‘best in-house tax leader” at the Tolley’s Taxation Awards 2019.

Grant Thorton said Holloway had a “deep understanding of how to implement great tax governance and compliance procedures”, and is skilled in tax compliance management across international supply chains.

In his new role at Grant Thorton, Lee will focus on the growth of the firm’s tax offering in London, and provide practical tax advice to clients in the consumer and business sector.

Holloway said: “I’m delighted to join such a strong group of partners and help to strengthen what is already a fantastic offering in the consumer business space.

“With increased scrutiny from HMRC around tax governance and control I will utilise nearly a decade of in-house experience of moving corporates to a place of great tax governance and control, to support the firm’s impressive client base.”

Dominic Preston, partner and London head of tax, Grant Thornton, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lee to the firm.

“His appointment demonstrates our continued commitment to growing our tax offering and providing the best quality service for our clients.”

He added: “His extensive experience and skillset will help us to continue to provide leading advice and strengthen our already impressive consumer tax base.”
