Accountancy firm Mazars has appointed Frank Strachan as a new partner.
Strachan joins with a national remit, and will focus upon driving further growth in the Tax Investigations team across the UK, as well as providing expertise and guidance to Mazars’ Private Client team.
He has over 30 years’ experience in representing clients subject to HMRC investigations. Strachan has also been listed as a ‘Leading Individual’ in the Citywealth Leaders List each year since 2016, and was named one of the 50 Most Influential Private Client practitioners in 2017.
Mazars’ Tax Investigations team provides advice around income tax, corporation tax, inheritance, tax, employment tax, national insurance, VAT or IR35 investigations, as well as expert assistance with serious fraud, civil or criminal investigations.
Lindsay Pentelow, Mazars UK head of tax, said: “Our tax practice exists to help our clients safely navigate complex tax regimes, often across multiple jurisdictions.
“Frank’s role as the leader of our controversy practice is critical in helping clients to ensure they pay the right amount of tax and protect themselves as fully as possible from the financial and reputational damage which can occur when disputes arise with the tax authorities.”
She added: “As legislation continues to grow in scope and complexity, Frank’s expertise and guidance will be hugely valuable to clients.”
