KPMG has announced the appointment of Chris Vaulks and Richard Cotterill to director roles in its Newcastle office.
This follows the business advisory firm’s announcement of a further 17 senior promotions throughout the business.
Vaulks has over 10 years of experience in KPMG’s audit team, having first joined the firm in 2007. In 2017, he was named ‘Accountant of the Year’ at the North East Accountancy Awards, and currently leads the wellbeing team in the Newcastle office.
He will now work on a mixed portfolio of clients, including listed and privately owned businesses, across retail, manufacturing and construction.
Cotterill joined KPMG’s Birmingham office before moving to the firm’s London M&A team. He recently relocated to the North East, where he leads the Energy Lead Advisory team. He focuses on M&A, debt advisory and strategic consultancy for clients delivering low carbon infrastructure projects.
David Elliott, office senior partner in Newcastle, said: “Newcastle is one of the fastest growing cities in the UK so it’s critical that we constantly invest in the talent and expertise that will continue to drive and support the region’s thriving business community.”
He added: “Chris and Richard are shining examples of the opportunities within KPMG and, as well as advising a growing and ambitious client base, their experience means they are well-placed to guide other members of the team on their own paths.”
KPMG currently operates 22 offices across the UK, and employs 16,300 partners and staff.
