Yorkshire-based accountancy firm, Garbutt and Elliott, has appointed Becky Maguire as its new business tax partner as she leads a team of eight business tax specialists.
Garbutt and Elliott’s business tax team has delivered significant growth and is on target this year to have grown its fee income by 50% since 2016. The appointment of a new tax partner is part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to provide its clients with the “best expert advice, exceptional service and real added value”.
Maguire joins Garbutt and Elliott after nearly 20 years with PwC where she led the delivery of tax services to businesses ranging from owner managed to the largest listed companies throughout the region.
Russell Turner, managing partner at Garbutt and Elliott, said: “Our firm’s continued growth is down to the pride we take in delivering excellent service with a friendly and caring approach. Becky’s appointment as business tax partner reinforces the ambition we have for Garbutt and Elliott and I’m delighted that she’s joining our team.
“Becky has a tremendous breadth of knowledge from her time with PwC and has a natural flair for connecting with both clients and colleagues. Becky’s values and business approach sit perfectly with ours and we’re all looking forward to working with her.”
Maguire added: “I am thrilled to be joining a forward thinking, value led firm who are committed to building exceptional client relationships. This is a great opportunity to build on what is already an outstanding team of highly qualified tax professionals and the firm’s recent growth is an indicator of even greater things on the horizon. I am excited to be part of the Garbutt and Elliott family.”
