Haysmacintyre has announced the launch of a new Tax Disputes and Resolutions team expanding the firm’s offering to include advisory services covering all forms of HMRC enquiries, ranging from personal accounts issues to corporate affairs and family office investigations.

Led by Danielle Ford, director in the firm’s Tax team, the new service line will offer both new and existing Haysmacintyre clients “expert advice and guidance” throughout the process.

In light of HMRC’s increasing drive in this field, with the recent UK Budget announcement of £100m to fund a taxpayer protection taskforce to combat COVID fraud and HMRC’s recent campaign of one-to-many ‘nudge letters’, there is a growing need for professional support around tax disputes and HMRC investigations.

The firm said that with an “extensive knowledge” of tax legislation and over 20 years of private client tax experience, Ford and her team are ideally placed to meet this need as HMRC increases operations in the wake of the pandemic.

Jeremy Beard, managing partner of Haysmacintyre, said: “We are delighted that Danielle will be heading our new dedicated Tax Disputes and Resolutions team. We recognise that this will be a key service over the coming years and both existing and new clients will benefit from Danielle’s wealth of experience in handling tax disputes with HMRC.

“We are always looking at how we can better support our clients and the formation of this latest team is a perfect example of this”

Tim Davies, head of Tax, said: “The launch of our Tax Disputes and Resolutions team further complements our extensive suite of services available to our clients. Our dedicated team of experts are on hand to advise on tax affairs and liaison with HMRC.”

Ford added: “Tax disputes and resolutions has long been a specialism of mine and I’m proud to be leading haysmacintyre’s expansion into this recently growing space. With HMRC stepping up operations as the pandemic eases, we are ready and available to offer new and existing clients the best advice and service to resolve disputes quickly and efficiently.”
