Hazlewoods has expanded its Bristol operations with the appointment of Tom Edwards as director in its transaction services team and a move to larger offices in the city.

Edwards joins the firm after 14 years with Big Four firms, most recently Deloitte in Bristol. His appointment is part of Hazlewoods’ plan to strengthen its position in the region’s corporate finance market.

The firm has also committed to more than doubling the space it occupies at Bull Wharf, in Bristol’s business district, only months after relocating there. It follows a period of growth in staff numbers and new client work.

Edwards said: “Hazlewoods is clearly on a strong path and I’m excited to be joining one of the largest independent professional services firms in the South West, with a well-established and highly regarded corporate finance team.

“In my new role, I’ll be helping to expand our presence in Bristol, further building our transaction services team, and continuing to provide transaction support on mid and lower-mid market deals.”

Becki Copping, partner and head of the Bristol office at Hazlewoods, added: “With his years of experience, Tom is a welcome addition and I’m confident that he will play an integral part in the continuing growth of our team.

“When we moved to a larger premises earlier this year we chose a space that gave us plenty of room to grow and I’m thrilled that we’re already relocating into a bigger space. As well as showing that Hazlewoods is a thriving place to work, it is a reflection of the wider Bristol economy which has enabled us to take on more local clients and in turn, more staff.”

Hazlewoods, which employs more than 600 people, is one of the largest independent accountants and business advisers in the South West. Its main base is in Cheltenham, with growing offices in Bristol and Cardiff.
