Global professional services firm Alvarez and Marsal (A&M) has opened its first office in Ireland and established its Corporate Finance practice in the country.

Niall Flood joins as head of Corporate Finance in Ireland and will lead the development of the practice from the firm’s new office in Dublin.

Flood brings more than 15 years of M&A and leveraged finance experience. He specialises in advising entrepreneurs, investors and management teams of privately owned and publicly listed companies on raising debt and equity funding, acquisitions and sale/exit strategy. He also helps clients secure private equity investment to drive corporate growth agendas and assist shareholders in realising their investments.

Prior to joining A&M, Flood spent over 10 years with KPMG, in the Corporate Finance practice, where he co-led mid-market M&A Advisory in Ireland. He has advised clients across multiple sectors, with a particular focus on Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT) and Healthcare.

In his new role, he will focus on expanding A&M’s Corporate Finance team in Ireland, with the firm targeting a number of new hires in the coming months. The team has taken space in Ella House, located on Merrion Square in the centre of the city.

Flood said: “Alvarez and Marsal offers something different. We talk our clients’ language. The heritage of the firm, corporate performance improvement, and the fact that many of A&M’s leaders are former industry professionals means we provide valuable expertise on both transaction strategy, as well as how best to maximise trading performance. As industry veterans and market-leading transaction advisors collaborate, the result is a differentiated, unique and value-add offering.

“I am delighted to be spearheading the Corporate Finance offering in Ireland and building out our team here. I am looking forward to helping our clients generate and realise value in what is expected to be a dynamic M&A market in 2025.”

Jonathan Boyers, MD, and head of Corporate Finance EMEA, added: “The opening of A&M’s first office in Ireland marks a significant moment for us as a firm, and I’m proud to welcome Niall as Head of Corporate Finance in Ireland. Having on-the-ground, local experts is critical to supporting entrepreneurs and business leaders effectively with their financing needs. As we continue to expand, our focus remains on creating a fully integrated global business that allows us to support clients across borders, blending access to international buyers with deep sector knowledge and local expertise.”
