Bennettbrooks has announced that its client director and trust and estates specialist, Anthony Whittaker, has been appointed chair of the Cheshire branch of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP).

With almost 20 years of experience in advising clients in trust and estate matters, Whittaker’s appointment to chairman highlights his standing within the profession, as well as the trust placed in him by the members.

Whittaker said: “I am honoured to take on the role of chairman of STEP Cheshire. Our local STEP branch plays a crucial role in encouraging professional development and providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and expertise.

“I look forward to leading our dedicated committee and continuing to serve the trust and estates community in Cheshire.”

In addition to Whittaker’s appointment, the firm has also announced that technical director, Caroline Barrett, who specialises in estate tax, has been named the STEP Cheshire committee’s student liaison officer.

Barrett’s new role on the committee marks a “significant” opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the local STEP branch. Her appointment also reflects her reputation as a trusted practitioner in trust and estate matters.

Yvonne Wood, MD of Bennettbrooks, added: “I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to both Anthony and Caroline on these well-deserved appointments with STEP Cheshire. This recognition highlights the exceptional expertise we are proud to offer around trust and estates planning.

“At Bennettbrooks, we are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of specialist advice, and these appointments reinforce our ability to support clients through the most complex of financial challenges. We are thrilled to see Anthony and Caroline recognised in this way.

As experienced trust and estates practitioners, Whittaker and Barrett provide tailored advice to individuals and families navigating the complex tax issues related to estate planning, inheritance and wealth management.
