Grant Thornton has announced the promotion of Will Rose to the role of director within its corporate finance advisory team across the Thames Valley and Southampton

Operating from the Reading office, Rose will be responsible for executing mid-market transactions within the region with a particular focus on businesses in the TMT sector, along with providing leadership to the growing corporate finance team.

Rose has over 15 years of experience in professional services and almost a decade of experience in operating within the deals environment, having started in the industry as a school leaver.

According to the firm, Rose’s promotion will also allow him to further grow and develop the team to ensure it can provide regional businesses with excellent business advice

Rose said: “This is a huge achievement for me personally and I’m grateful for all the support received from the people at Grant Thornton to enable me to develop my career.

“The region has a thriving business community and a reputation as one of the strongest technology hubs in the country, earning it the name ‘Silicon Valley of the UK’. This is attracting both domestic and international interest from businesses looking to merge with or acquire the high calibre of mid-market businesses in the region.”

He added: “We have a fantastic and growing corporate finance team which has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and I’m looking forward to continuing to build on this momentum and realising Grant Thornton’s exciting plans in the region.”

Peter Jennings, head of corporate finance for Grant Thornton, said: “Will is a much-valued colleague and this promotion is very well deserved. It recognises his success so far and is aligned with our focus of continuing to build a market-leading team across sectors and regions. His promotion is also a testament to Grant Thornton’s ability to nurture talent, especially those who have taken a non-traditional route.

“It is an incredibly exciting time to be involved in the mid-market transactions space and it’s great to see Will using the skills and knowledge he has built to help businesses achieve their ambitions, as well as using his experience to mentor the next generation of talent to grow their own careers at Grant Thornton.”
