Moore Kingston Smith has recently announced the appointment of two new partners, as well as ten director promotions across its client-facing and business operations teams.

James Davenport is a general practice partner, supporting owner-managed businesses across the full suite of accounting, tax and advisory services delivered by the firm. Working with entrepreneurial clients spanning a range of sectors, Davenport helps business leaders maintain momentum and reach their goals at every stage of the business lifecycle.

With his breadth of experience, he assists clients in navigating the opportunities and challenges they face across changes in the regulatory landscape and the rise in the cost of living.

Regarding his appointment, Davenport said: “Being a part of Moore Kingston Smith since I joined the firm as a trainee has been a real joy and privilege. It’s an incredibly exciting time to become a partner, with the recent investment from European private equity firm, Waterland. I truly look forward to enhancing our existing capabilities while continuing to build on the quality service we deliver for our clients.”

Steve Harper is a partner in the firm’s dedicated nonprofit team, guiding clients across statutory audit and financial due diligence, as well as other reviews including internal audits and donor audits for a variety of funders including USAID.

Having worked with an array of charity and nonprofit clients for over 14 years, Harper’s experience spans both national and international organisations, from start-ups to established household names, as well as those going through significant change, including mergers.

Harper said: “I am delighted to join Moore Kingston Smith’s nonprofit team, with its renowned reputation in this space and deep commitment to the sector. The firm’s offering across multiple disciplines, all under one roof will enable me to provide clients with a first-class service.

“Bolstered by the strength of expertise available through the Moore Global network, I am looking forward to supporting our clients across a range of issues to help them navigate the challenging environment, both nationally and internationally.”

Maureen Penfold, managing partner of Moore Kingston Smith, said: “It’s wonderful to see James become a partner, having been with the firm since he joined as a trainee. It’s a testament to his passion for entrepreneurial businesses, and the level of care he affords his clients in helping them realise their goals.

“We’re equally delighted to welcome Steve, whose vast experience and expertise in working with national and international organisations will further enhance the offering of our award-winning Nonprofit team.”

The firm has also announced the promotions of Amy Marshall, Dan Lever, Emma Beechey, Joe Regan, Katy Shaw and Tom Breading to director in the firm’s client-facing teams, as well as four promotions within Business Operations.
