With offices in both Edinburgh and London, Anderson Anderson Brown (AAB) is one of Scotland’s largest accountancy and professional services firms. In December 2007, the firm was founded and incorporated in Aberdeen. Currently, AAB has over 280 employees working across its UK-based offices.
According to the firm, AAB has recently aimed to support its clients using its own “Plus Factor” working model following in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. This prioritises ensuring no major delays happen throughout the audit process to mitigate costs, saving time by operating efficiently, working with clients using virtual auditing, and being responsive to future client needs.
AAB provides a variety of accountancy and financial services to its many clients from various sectors of business, including the hospitality, technology and public sectors. These include, but are not limited to:
Furthermore, the firm has provided specific guidance and assistance to its clients regarding Brexit. Specifically, AAB has cautioned on the impact of fishery imports, changes to personal taxes and the effect on National Insurance.
In its latest published financial report for the year ended 31 March 2020, AAB posted a pre-tax profit of £3.4m. The accountancy firm’s turnover for the period came to around £19.5m.
With the rise of home working during lockdown, AAB announced it was deciding to commit to a hybrid working model for all its staff going forward. This was implemented at the firm’s Aberdeen, Edinburgh and London offices, taking effect from 1 April 2021, and covers all 285 existing AAB staff and will be present in new start contracts also.
Graeme Allan, AAB’s chief executive, said: “I am immensely proud that we are one of the first to formally implement hybrid working across our business and hope it paves the way for more to follow, as we continue adapting to a new working world.
“Pre-pandemic we already had a flexible working culture, however we continually strive to make improvements and enhance our awesome client experience, as well as the working environment for our talented team.”
