RSM UK has appointed Rob Bayliss as a financial modelling partner in its deal services team within consulting.

Bayliss has over 20 years’ experience in financial modelling, working with business owners, funders and management teams to drive business decisions, particularly in investments and transactions.

He joins from Grant Thornton where he led the creation of the firm’s financial modelling service line for over 10 years.

Prior to that, he worked at EY and PwC, including leading EY’s development of financial modelling services for restructuring.

His expertise includes strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting, restructuring and insolvency, along with supporting debt and equity transactions across a wide range of sectors.

He has also previously chaired the ICAEW’s committee on financial modelling and is an EMCC-accredited coach.

Bayliss said: “Financial modelling underpins almost all business decisions. It offers a unique blend of creative and analytical challenges, and every case and situation is different. Our work maps the workings and value drivers of a business into tools that deliver useful insights and better decision-making. I’m thrilled to join RSM at this exciting time of growth for the firm.”

Diane Craig, deal services partner at RSM UK, added: “Many businesses often struggle to get their financial models right, costing them valuable time and money. Rob is a great addition to the consulting team, allowing us to continue helping clients navigate their business decisions and reach their desired end goal.”
