Azets has acquired part of KPMG Sweden’s audit, advisory, and tax business for SMEs, marking its first Nordic deal. The acquisition, set to complete in summer 2025, will double Azets Sweden’s size to SEK1bn (£738m) and create a new business area. The deal expands Azets’ presence in the public sector and aligns with its strategy for Nordic growth. CEO Chris Horne emphasized the transaction's transformational impact, while KPMG Sweden’s CEO Mathias Arvidsson expressed confidence in Azets as the right buyer. Azets operates in Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Romania, Sweden, and the UK, continuing its expansion strategy. HW Fisher has appointed Daniel Burke as an audit partner as it enhances its audit services. Burke brings over 25 years of experience and previously worked at Blick Rothenberg, advising clients across industries, including property, retail, and private equity-backed firms. His expertise spans audits, accounting, and tax advisory for UK and international businesses. Burke expressed enthusiasm for supporting clients and mentoring future accountants. ICAS has urged the UK government to establish a regulatory framework for sustainability assurance, following the FRC’s market study. The institute stresses the need for robust performance, ethical standards, and quality management to ensure fair competition and reliable sustainability reporting. CEO Bruce Cartwright supports the FRC’s recommendations for a clear UK policy, a unified regulatory system, and improved quality transparency. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards without compromising competition. Gerald Edelman’s Corporate Finance team advised Birch Faraday Capital on acquiring Highbury Support Services, a provider of supported living services for individuals with disabilities and mental health needs. Founded in 1996, Highbury Support offers domiciliary care and day services in North Wales. This marks Birch Faraday’s second healthcare acquisition in 15 months. Gerald Edelman conducted financial due diligence, working capital reviews, and provided transaction support.
