AAT has launched a free careers hub to connect jobseekers with finance apprenticeship opportunities. Research found that 60% of UK jobseekers considered apprenticeships, yet barriers like unclear pathways and rigid scheduling deter them. Flexible learning options, quality training, and employer support were cited as key motivators. CEO Sarah Beale emphasized that flexible training is essential to filling finance vacancies and addressing gender imbalances. Employers can now list apprenticeships on AAT’s platform for free during National Apprenticeship Week. The hub also provides career resources, interview guidance, and tips to help aspiring finance professionals navigate their career paths.

Additionally, 74% felt there was insufficient information about apprenticeships as an alternative to university. Many emphasized the importance of employer connections and more awareness initiatives. Despite this, 44% saw university as offering more career choices, while 43% considered apprenticeships. BDO’s Anna Draper called for stronger collaboration between businesses, government, and education to improve access.
