Global data and technology company Experian has announced that the board has approved the re-appointment of KPMG LLP (KPMG) as its external auditor to take effect from the financial year ending 31 March 2027.

The reappointment comes following a comprehensive audit tender process which followed the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) Minimum Standard, and considered both large and challenger audit firms.

In line with applicable UK legislation, Experian tenders its audit every 10 years and rotates every 20 years.

The company had previously disclosed in its 2024 annual report and accounts that a tender process would be conducted, given KPMG was initially appointed in 2016.

In 2024, Experian paid £8.3m to KPMG and its associates for the company’s annual audit.

In July 2024 during the company’s Annual General Meeting, KPMG was re-appointed as the group’s auditor after receiving 99% of shareholders’ votes.

The appointment is subject to shareholder approval at the company’s 2026 Annual General Meeting.
