Azets Wealth Management is set to acquire Laurus Associates Limited, a firm specializing in investments, pensions, and life assurance. Established in 2002, Laurus Associates brings two decades of expertise to Azets. Founders Karen Barwick and Colin Dawson, along with their team, will join Azets, aligning with its people-first culture and expanding its service range. This acquisition follows Azets’ recent integration of Milne Craig in Glasgow, further bolstering its UK presence. CEO Mark Parkinson praised the cultural alignment and Laurus’ reputation, emphasizing the shared commitment to providing trusted, quality advice. The deal is expected to be completed by January 2025.

Lisa Ball has joined Martin and Company as tax partner, bringing over 30 years of experience in tax advisory. Previously a partner at Evelyn and Partners, Ball specializes in family agri-businesses, Inheritance Tax, and succession planning. She has also held senior leadership roles, including regional managing partner and head of tax. Ball expressed excitement about contributing to Martin and Company’s growth and its expertise in agriculture and landed estates. Naomi Stewart, partner at Martin and Company, highlighted Ball’s alignment with the firm’s focus and her key role in supporting its development during this transformative period.

Shaw and Co has joined ECOVIS International as its sole UK corporate finance advisory member, advancing its global M&A capabilities. The announcement was made during ECOVIS’ annual International Partner Meeting in Dubai. Shaw and Co will work alongside other member firms, such as Taurus Corporate Finance from The Netherlands, to drive cross-border deal flow. CEO Jim Shaw highlighted the network’s global reach and its potential to enhance Shaw and Co’s transaction expertise. ECOVIS International, founded in 2003, now ranks as the 18th largest professional services network worldwide, generating over $1.5 billion in annual fees.

Conti, an experienced forensic accountant, has over 25 years of expertise in civil litigation, business valuations, loss claims, and transaction disputes.
