PwC has appointed Darren Ketteringham as its UK leader of industry for Financial Services. Ketteringham, a partner for 19 years, has spent three decades working in the banking and capital markets sectors. He previously led PwC’s banking and capital markets consulting practice and served as COO on the Lehman UK Administration. Replacing Isabelle Jenkins, Ketteringham will lead PwC’s financial services team in supporting clients through business transformations and regulatory challenges. His extensive experience positions him well to guide the sector’s opportunities and challenges. PwC lauded his appointment as vital for the UK economy’s key financial sector. Hurst has promoted Jennifer Escott to associate tax manager and Matthew Taylor to corporate finance executive. Escott, who joined from EY, handles corporate and personal tax compliance, shareholder advice, and due diligence for business acquisitions. She also helps clients navigate post-Brexit trade and VAT challenges. Taylor, who recently became a chartered accountant, supports owner-managed businesses in strategic transactions. Both have been commended for their significant contributions. Managing partner Tim Potter praised their expertise and dedication, with Escott assisting in complex tax issues and Taylor taking a lead role in corporate finance projects expected to close soon. Kathy Lloyd has joined James Cowper Kreston as director in its Employment Tax team. With over 25 years of experience in employment taxes, including roles in international practices and the Big 4, Lloyd brings extensive expertise to the firm. Formerly at KPMG UK, she led payroll projects and transformations. Lloyd expressed excitement about leading the employment tax service line, focusing on client service and developing tax talent. Phil Snell, business tax head, praised her appointment, highlighting her vital role in enhancing client services. The firm’s joint managing partner, Alex Peal, noted that Lloyd’s expertise marks a key expansion for the firm. Forvis Mazars has promoted seven new partners across its London, Manchester, and Milton Keynes offices, covering advisory, audit, accounting, outsourcing, and tax. In London, Diego Fernandez will support wealth and asset management audits, Patricia Moroney will handle forensic accountancy, and Ryan Humphrey will work in model audits for the energy sector. In Manchester, Daniel Watson will specialise in public sector audits, while Adam Cooper leads the Tax Valuation practice. Katie Sharpe will head UK payroll delivery in Milton Keynes.
