Deloitte has appointed Grace Cartin as a new partner in its Belfast team, where she will focus on growing the firm’s audit team and expanding services to local and global companies. Cartin, who has over 12 years of experience with Deloitte, started as a graduate and has worked across various industries, including banking, energy, and technology. Her career also includes an 18-month stint with Deloitte’s global audit innovation team in the U.S. The appointment coincides with 190 promotions across Deloitte’s Northern Ireland business, which employs around 3,000 people, including one-third of its workforce in Belfast.
Armstrong Watson is set to welcome over 28 new trainees as part of its apprenticeship program, marking an increase from the previous year. The new apprentices will pursue qualifications with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) while gaining hands-on experience in Accounting and Tax Compliance teams across Northern England and Scotland. The firm, recognized by the Department of Education for its successful apprenticeship program, ranked 37th nationally. Armstrong Watson is also recruiting for two payroll apprentices, reflecting its ongoing commitment to developing future talent within the company.
MHA Corporate Finance served as the reporting accountant for Bowen Fintech in its £34.5 million acquisition of Minnadeooyasan-Hanbai Co. Ltd (MOH). Following the acquisition, Bowen Fintech has been renamed MOH Nippon. The deal involved the purchase of 97.41% of MOH’s issued share capital from Kyosei Bank Co. MOH is a prominent real estate crowdfunding platform in Japan, having raised £1.45 billion over 16 years. MHA’s team, led by Robin Stevens and Rob Dando, provided specialist due diligence and facilitated the transaction’s listing on the London Stock Exchange, marking a significant milestone for the company’s growth strategy.
