The acquisition follows Moore’s earlier purchase of Moore Ireland in July 2023 and WMT in June 2023, marking their fourth acquisition post-investment from Waterland private equity firm. The move enhances cross-border trade capabilities, particularly between London, Belfast, and Dublin. Moore Kingston Smith aims to combine strengths and best practices across these firms, benefiting clients operating in this geographical area.
Deloitte has established a dedicated Equity Capital Markets (ECM) hub in the North West, focusing on supporting large corporations in UK and US markets. The new team, led by Tim Grogan and Iain White, will specialise in IPOs, M&A support, financial carve-outs, and transaction readiness. The North West-based hub aims to expand ECM services regionally, beyond the traditionally London-centric market. The move aligns with the anticipated strengthening of IPO markets in late 2024 and 2025, positioning Deloitte to better serve regional clients with specialist advisory services.
Larking Gowen has appointed Joanna Burton as the new director of its North Norfolk team. Caba, the charity for ICAEW members, has strengthened its partnership with ICAEW in response to rising mental health support requests. Nearly 1,200 ICAEW members sought direct help from Caba this year, with over 28,000 accessing online resources. The partnership aims to enhance mental health services, acknowledging the profession’s stress and mental health challenges. Caba’s CEO, Cristian Holmes, emphasised the importance of continued support and collaboration with ICAEW. ICAEW CEO, Alan Vallance, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to ensuring all members have access to necessary support, particularly in mental health.
