PwC has appointed Jamie Peel as director in its Manchester lead advisory team, enhancing its deals practice. Peel, formerly a corporate finance director at Zeus Capital, will oversee the special situations and restructuring M&A offerings in Northern England. With over 10 years of experience, Peel specialises in public company M&A and takeover transactions. Lucy Stapleton, UK head of deals at PwC, welcomed Peel, emphasising his expertise in complex transactions. Peel expressed excitement about joining PwC and contributing to its market offerings by helping clients navigate their M&A needs. Sumer has acquired ASM’s Belfast office, rebranding it as Sumer Northern Ireland, marking its entry into the Northern Irish market. The acquisition makes Sumer Belfast the company's 10th regional hub, joining a network of over 40 offices. North East accountancy firm Blu Sky has achieved B Corp certification, reflecting its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. The certification, awarded by B Lab, recognizes companies meeting high standards of social and environmental impact. Blu Sky’s ESG initiatives include going paperless, reducing plastic use, and promoting eco-friendly travel. Co-founders Jon Dudgeon and Dave Gibson emphasised their dedication to sustainability and community. Moore Kingston Smith LLP has appointed Alison Kerrey to its tax technical team and Guy Taylor to its corporate finance team.
