EY has resigned as the auditor of Asda following revelations of a romantic relationship between one of its senior partners and Asda’s billionaire CEO, Mohsin Issa, according to the Telegraph. Although EY informed Asda about the decision in June, it was only revealed recently. The partner resigned a day after EY’s decision, and the resignation was related to the restructuring of the Issa brothers’ businesses. Asda claimed it notified bondholders about EY’s resignation in August, and EY clarified that the partner had never been involved in Asda’s audit work.
PwC will be the anchor tenant at One City Park, a new office space in Bradford’s Centenary Square.
