Interpath Advisory has been appointed as the administrator of Safestyle UK, a PVCu replacement windows and doors retailer. Safestyle faced market pressures due to high cost inflation, economic uncertainty, and fragile consumer confidence. Despite exploring various options to strengthen its financial position, a solvent solution couldn’t be found, leading to the appointment of administrators. Of Safestyle’s approximately 750 employees, most have been made redundant, with around 70 retained by Interpath temporarily to assist with winding down the business. Interpath’s focus will be on supporting those affected by redundancy.
BDO has promoted 30 partners and nearly 2,300 people across its business. The promotions are effective from November 1, 2023. These partner promotions follow the addition of 19 new external partners earlier in the year, bringing BDO’s partnership to over 450. The promotions span various teams, with over a third outside of London, and more than two fifths within the audit practice. Additionally, BDO has promoted over 1,200 people in audit, 560 in advisory, 330 in tax, and 164 in support functions.
Beever and Struthers, operating from multiple locations, has generated £1,773,524 in social value contributions in 2022, achieving its fourth consecutive year of Planet Mark Business Certification. The firm’s social value per employee is £7,239, representing 11.4% of its turnover. This contribution includes investments in people and support for the local community. The firm is working toward being net zero by 2050 and will continue embedding sustainability into its operations.
PwC has appointed Nicola Quincey as its new AWS alliance leader and partner for the EMEA region. Quincey, with over 25 years of cloud industry experience, joins from AWS where she led its EMEA commercial team for strategic accounts. In her new role, she will enhance PwC’s alliance with AWS and help merge EMEA expertise with market knowledge, focusing on cloud innovation and technology transformation.
Grant Thornton UK LLP has appointed Ben Butterfield as associate director in its transformation team and Zeenat Patel as audit director in the North. Butterfield will work on transformational change for clients driven by growth opportunities, cost challenges, and more. Patel, who joined the firm in 2016, will continue to work with the North West team in Manchester, supporting listed and large privately owned businesses.
