RSM UK Corporate Finance LLP has advised on the sale of Ventcroft Limited, a family-owned manufacturer of fire performance cables based in Runcorn, Cheshire.

Ventcroft supplies customers across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa through a network of specialist electrical and fire and security product wholesalers and distributors.

The company has been acquired by NKT, a Denmark-headquartered group focused on the design, manufacture, and installation of low, medium and high-voltage cable solutions.

Founded in 1989 by chairman Frank Rotheram, Ventcroft operates from a 107,000 square feet facility.

Ian Latham and Matthew Kells from RSM UK advised the vendors, and Michael Murphy from Weightmans acted as legal advisor to the shareholders.

Rotheram said: “We are looking forward to starting a new chapter with NKT and the acquisition will support the development of new products and the continued growth of the business.”

Latham added: “Ventcroft is a market-leading manufacturer of fire performance cables and the partnership with NKT going forward will further enhance its position.

“We received significant interest from potential purchasers and it was great to draw on our extensive sector experience to deliver a successful exit for the shareholders to the right purchaser for the shareholders and senior management and provide a strong platform for the future continued success of the business.”
