KPMG makes raft of promotions in the South

The appointments come at the group’s Reading, Bristol, South Coast, and Plymouth teams

KPMG has announced 77 promotions across its South of England operations, including six directors.

The raft of appointments were made at the Big Four firm’s Reading, Bristol, South Coast, and Plymouth teams.

Among the director appointments are Kavita Gnanaolivu in the group’s consulting division and Matthew Shepherd at its tax team.

Originally a doctor in India, Gnanaolivu has spent the last four years at KPMG’s Bristol offices after training as an accountant in the NHS.

She said that the group’s consulting team “has opened up a plethora of opportunities” as she looks to “shape the face of healthcare” both domestically and internationally.

However, the majority of director promotions came in KPMG’s audit department, namely Zena Gordon, Mary Hinchcliffe, Matthew Gillett, and Vivek Kohli.

Andrew Morgan, South region chair at the company, said: “I feel really proud of how our people in the South have supported the region’s businesses through one of the most challenging years, when they themselves have faced their own personal challenges.

“Career development is at the heart of what we do, and I’m delighted that we have been able to recognise the hard work and dedication of our talented people with a significant number of promotions this month.”
