KPMG to take on 20 training placements in partnership with NI gov

Upon completion of the trainee scheme, participants will gain an interview with the Big Four firm for a role at the group’s Belfast centre of excellence

Diane Dodds, Northern Ireland’s economy minister, has announced 20 training places through a cyber security assured skills academy in partnership with KPMG.

Open to those with a degree in all disciplines, or a level five qualification in ICT or STEM-related subjects, the academy will provide pre-employment training with Belfast Metropolitan between 1 June and 9 August.

Upon completion of the trainee scheme, participants will gain an interview with the Big Four firm for a role at the group’s Belfast centre of excellence.

Dodds said that she was pleased to announce the academy, which focuses on “the cutting edge area of cyber security”.

She added: “This is the second assured skills academy with KPMG, following the announcement in February that the company is creating 200 new jobs, with the potential to fill 160 of those through assured skills academies.

“With no experience needed, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a multinational company with an expanding presence in Northern Ireland and I urge anyone who is interested and eligible to apply.”

Successful candidates will receive training in a range of areas, including cisco networking essentials, MTA security fundamentals, EC council ethical hacking, AZ 900, AZ 500, and EC council cyber forensics associate.

Johnny Hanna, partner in charge at KPMG NI, said: “We are delighted to offer graduates from any discipline the opportunity to develop a professional career in cyber security in a friendly, challenging and supportive environment.

“This is an ideal opportunity for those who have a natural curiosity to understand and solve complex business challenges, and a desire to become the digital business leaders of tomorrow.”
