Financial firms join ‘10,000 Black Interns’ campaign

Linklaters and PwC are among the latest firms to join the ‘10,000 Black Interns’ campaign.

The campaign is set to offer paid work experience to 10,000 black graduate interns across various industries and has been backed by business groups, senior politicians and top City organisations.

The initiative will launch 3 November and is designed to provide the foundation for more black people to pursue careers in business, and will work alongside higher education institutions such as GuildHE, MillionPlus and the Russell Group.

These plans follow-up from the ‘100 Black Interns’ campaign two months ago, which encouraged black graduates to pursue a career in fund management.

Dr. Tim Bradshaw, CEO of the Russell Group, said: “I look forward to working with the 10,000 Black Interns programme to find new ways of increasing opportunities for young black students.

“Earlier this year we set out bold plans to tackle educational inequality in our ‘Pathways for Potential’ report and this work remains a priority for our members, who will continue to do everything they can to promote equality and diversity at all levels in collaboration with students and staff.”
