KPMG announces 2020 partner and director promotions

KPMG in the UK has announced its partner, associate partner and director promotions for 2020.

The firm has appointed 38 partners, 43 associate partners and around 100 directors as part of KPMG’s 2020 year-end promotions.

During this financial year, KPMG has recruited and promoted a total of 54 partners, 47 associate partners and around 200 directors, an increase on the previous year.

Bill Michael, chair and senior partner at KPMG UK, said: “Investing in our talent is critical to the success of our long-term growth strategy.  As a firm, we are committed to attracting and retaining the very best and the brightest, as these promotions attest.

“Our people will play a critical role to help business leaders navigate the challenges COVID-19 brings and replot their path to growth.”

He added: “Across our wider firm we’re promoting more than 900 of our people, in recognition of their talent and achievements. I’d like to congratulate my colleagues who have been promoted, and welcome those who have recently joined the firm.”

Anna Purchas, head of people at KPMG UK, said: “The development of our people in their careers remains just as important to KPMG amidst this global pandemic, as it was pre-pandemic.

“Having the right talent and knowledge enables KPMG to provide our clients with the quality and expertise they need, especially during challenging times.”

She added: “Diversity and inclusion continues to be a key area of focus for the firm and while we’re making progress in a number of areas – including at Board level and with 45% of externally recruited partners and associate partners women – we know we have more to do.

“Overall, over a third (34.7%) of our new partners and associate partners are women and 15.8% are from an ethnic minority background.”
